2001 Cabernet Sauvignon ~ Two Moon Vineyard
 ~  Dry Creek Valley  ~

THE VINEYARD — At 1,700' elevation, Two Moon Vineyard sprawls atop McCray Ridge at the southwestern edge of the Dry Creek Valley appellation. In 1997, a six-acre Cabernet block was added to the four-acre Merlot block planted in 1987. The site typically begins each day in sun-light and enjoys a steady airflow to and from the Pacific Ocean 15 miles west. The entire vineyard is terraced to follow the contours of the hillside. Climatic stability allows a long growing season and helps produce a wine true to the culture of a mountain vineyard. Austere soils keep tonnage low & create complex, age-worthy wines.

TASTING NOTES  —
Lush, ruby color.
Richly aromatic: succulent, ripe black currents and cherries, with smokey undertones.
Sculptured mid-palate reveals textured layers of ripe black fruit, raspberry & herbs, seasoned with smokey chocolate
Roundly balanced, sleek, and generous
